The Education Alliance Names it’s learning Best LMS

Natick, MA Higher Education Consultancy Finds ‘it’s learning’s’ Robust and User-Friendly Features Unique Among Learning Management Systems.

Burlington, MA – April 23, 2010 – The Education Alliance, a global higher education consultancy, recently tested it’s learning (www.itslearning.net) as part of an independent evaluation of learning management systems. According to the report, “it’s learning led the way in faculty and student usability, instructional application, adaptability, and affordability.” it’s learning was also praised for its media-rich interactive learning environment and easy-to-use and highly customizable features for both new adopters and sophisticated users.

Founded in 1987, The Education Alliance currently serves colleges and universities around the world with a focus on strategic planning, alliances, mergers and acquisitions, distance learning and facilities, and technology systems management. With a new book from John Hopkins Press being released describing “sustainable universities,” the Alliance’ leaders, Dr. James Samels and Dr. James Martin, are particularly interested in the use of technology to support high quality instruction at a lower cost.

After an intensive evaluation of the it’s learning platform, The Education Alliance commended the platform in the areas of customization, tools and platform features, assessment and feedback capabilities, faculty features, student engagement, and cost when compared with competing learning platforms such as Blackboard, Desire2Learn, Moodle, and six others.

It was noted within the evaluation that students and faculty will find it’s learning easy to navigate, comprehensive in its student/faculty dashboard, and highly customizable. The evaluation continued by stating that it’s learning’s tools offer an accessibility mode for students with special needs, custom designed e-portfolios, user-created personal web pages, custom created online identities and profiles – all of which promotes student success through a truly personalized learning experience. Finally, by providing an Application Program Interface (API), it’s learning offers open source customization opportunities with proprietary system reliability and support.

“Sustainable university administrators understand that they have to deliver high quality services at a lower price with a smaller environmental footprint than in the past,” said Dr. James Samels, co-founder of the Education Alliance. “it’s learning is the best tool we have seen to support personalized learning through technology.”

“Virtual Learning Environments like it’s learning are the future of education. They allow schools to offer a more personalized experience for every student while reducing educator work loads,” said Jon Bower, President of it’s learning, inc. “We are very pleased that the Education Alliance evaluation recognizes our potential. We continue to focus our development on adding robust features to support high quality onsite and online education.”
