itslearning Earns Prestigious Education Industry Recognition
Boston — March 31, 2014 — itslearning, a leading, cloud-based K-12 digital learning management platform, announced today the platform was named a finalist for the 2014 SIIA Education CODiE Awards for ‘Best PK-12 Personalized Learning Solution.’ The SIIA CODiE Awards are the premier award for the software and information industries, and have been recognizing product excellence for 29 years. The awards have over 75 categories and are organized by industry focus of Content, Education, and Software.
This year’s program features 31 Education categories, several of which are new or updated to reflect the latest industry trends and business models. Winners will be announced during a special awards dinner at the nation’s leading education technology conference, the Education Industry Summit, in San Francisco on Tuesday, May 13.
Designed specifically for the K-12 sector, itslearning enables teachers to better shape, support, and manage a personalized learning environment for today’s “digitally wired students.” Unlikeits competitors, itslearning enables student voice and choice, facilitating collaboration and self-reflection through blogs, individualized learning plans, communities and ePortfolios; all on one platform with a single and secure sign-on. The platform also fosters student creation of content, as well as peer analysis, extending the role of the student far beyond that of a traditional “consumer.”
More than 4 million educators, students, and parents worldwide are currently using itslearning. The media-rich learning platform’s seamless integration with existing school and district systems creates a user-friendly interface that gives teachers a way to share instructional resources, assignments and activities, and assessments with students and parents via personalized dashboards. At the same time, students have the power to decide how they learn as the solution automatically adapts to support learning styles that offer the best opportunities for success. A proprietary ‘standards mastery and recommendation engine’ facilitates remediation, acceleration and review by automating the recommendation of resources and activities based upon standards mastery. The recommendations are also tailored specifically to the student – regardless of age, ability level, interests or special requirements.
“We couldn’t be more pleased in learning about our designation as a CODiE finalist,” said itslearning Chief Executive Officer, Travis Willard. “It validates our belief in, and dedication to, helping educators personalize, individualize, and differentiate instruction for all students. itslearning is uniquely positioned to help personalize learning by allowing teachers to deliver age-appropriate interfaces, customize dashboards, create and share individual learning plans and ePortfolios, deliver educational resources that cater specifically to different learning styles, and track mastery of standards to help personalize delivery of content to students for acceleration, remediation, and review.”
“This year’s finalists are breaking ground with new business models and innovative products. We are pleased to recognize the best in educational technology with these 119 products,” said Karen Billings, vice president of the SIIA Education Division. “I look forward to honoring them all in May at the Education Industry Summit.”
