itslearning was founded in 1999 to introduce a virtual learning environment that would truly support student-centered education. Higher education students are responsible for their own success.
itslearning gives students the multimedia, Web 2.0 tools, and collaboration technologies they need to stay engaged and motivated. This helps them take responsibility for actively developing and shaping their own learning and interests. Examples include:
- Project rooms and built-in video conferencing with shared display where faculty can interact with students, and students can work together developing the same team-building skills they will need in the work world.
- A full suite of multimedia and Web 2.0 tools so students can express their ideas and create in whatever medium works best for them.
- Assessment portfolios and individual learning plans combine assessment with instruction to provide timely and relevant feedback, customized content to improve performance, help setting learning goals, and improved ability to take responsibility for completing those goals.
- ePortfolios provide a “persistent learning record” for every student, professor and administrator to assemble, manage and share work and achievements over time – including a personal URL with blog, grades, and digital artifacts.
