MICROSOFT JOINS FORCES WITH ITSLEARNING, INC. TO PROVIDE CLOUD-BASED APPLICATIONS FOR EDUCATION

Title 2

Under the terms of the agreement, itslearning will use Microsoft’s Live@edu service to provide Outlook Live based collaboration and the Microsoft Office Web Apps suite to K-12 and higher education clients with the itslearning platform at no charge. The global alliance indicates the importance that Microsoft and itslearning place on the integration of communications and productivity tools into a learning management system.

  • It really is easier. Professors who have used other course management systems and learning management systems tell us that it takes 1/3 to 1/10 as much time to create a course in itslearning.
  • Professors can easily import their courses using standard formats such as IMS and SCORM, and then set them up in nested hierarchical tree structures to maximize impact. itslearning, inc. also provides course migration as a service.
  • Grading rubrics tell what students what they must do, so that they can meet their professors’ expectations
  • The full integration of email, calendar, attendance taking and administrative communication turns it’s learning into everybody’s home on campus

“I have been very impressed with the individualized learning approach that itslearning, inc. is offering to education,” said Mark East, General Manager of Microsoft Education. “Integrating the Microsoft suite of offerings into the itslearning platform will help itslearning customers broaden their communication options with students.”

itslearning, inc. will integrate Microsoft Outlook Live through the Live@edu service and Office Web Applications into their individual learning platform, it’s learning. From the itslearning messaging portal, users will be able to use centrally managed, free email services without the costs of local hosting. As a part of the day to day lesson planning and learning process, teachers and students will be able to create, easily share, and collaborate on Office documents from anywhere: within their school, across the network of 2 million itslearning users around the world, and with any user of Microsoft office.
